Global City Connect (GCC) has officially announced the establishment of its Japan City Hub, marking a significant step in its expansion across Northeast Asia and creating a new platform for higher-level, results-driven cooperation between China and Japan.
Dr. Wang Huaidong has been appointed as Chairman of the GCC Japan Hub, responsible for leading strategic development and project implementation in the region. He will be supported by Vice Chairmen Terukazu Shizawa and Kazuhiko Muraki, who will assist in advancing key initiatives.
Advancing China–Japan Cooperation
As a global leader in technological innovation and industrial development, Japan holds strong advantages in biomedicine, advanced manufacturing, environmental technology, and urban governance. The establishment of the GCC Japan Hub is built on this foundation, aiming to promote deeper collaboration between China and Japan across multiple dimensions, including industrial cooperation, investment facilitation, technology transfer, research exchange, and cultural engagement.
A core objective of the Japan Hub is to move cooperation from dialogue to implementation, transforming conceptual alignment into practical, sustainable projects with tangible outcomes.
Leadership and International Support
Dr. Wang Huaidong has long been active in China–Japan cooperation in science, technology, and trade, playing a key role in supporting Chinese enterprises in their global expansion. His extensive experience and network across government, academia, and industry provide a strong foundation for the effective operation of the Japan Hub.
Vice Chairmen Terukazu Shizawa and Kazuhiko Muraki also bring valuable experience in cross-border investment, trade, and international business, further strengthening the Hub’s operational capacity.
In addition, Fumiyasu Akikawa, President and Representative Director of DEVNET INTERNATIONAL and DEVNET JAPAN, has been invited to serve as Advisor to the GCC Japan Hub and has joined the GCC International Advisory Board. His participation will enhance GCC’s resource integration and international collaboration capacity in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region.
A Platform for Global Collaboration
Global City Connect (GCC) is committed to building a city-based international cooperation platform that connects governments, enterprises, and institutions worldwide. Rather than acting as a traditional intermediary, GCC operates through its “City Hub” mechanism to facilitate resource matching and project implementation.
Under this model, city development needs are aligned with enterprise capabilities through structured engagement, continuous coordination, and targeted project development, ultimately leading to concrete outcomes.
A Strategic Gateway for the Future
The establishment of the Japan Hub represents not only the addition of a regional node, but also a strategic gateway for China–Japan cooperation. It will serve as a platform for resource aggregation, project matchmaking, and partnership development, connecting governments, enterprises, and institutions from both countries.
With the launch of the Japan Hub, GCC’s global network is accelerating its formation. Looking ahead, GCC will continue to establish City Hubs in more countries and regions, supporting Chinese enterprises in their international expansion while facilitating the entry of global resources into China. This will promote more direct, efficient cooperation between cities and contribute to the development of a new model of cross-border industrial collaboration.
