Global City Connect (GCC) officially launched its Brand Department on May 9, 2026, marking an important step in strengthening its international communication and global branding capabilities as Chinese enterprises continue accelerating their global expansion.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Dr. Djibril Diallo, former spokesperson for the President of the United Nations General Assembly, President of the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN), and Chairman of GCC Africa City Hubs; Hoyna Fernandez, Minister Counselor and Chargé d’Affaires of Honduras to China; Chen Pijie, Acting Director of the City Public Art Research Institue; Martin Wang, Founder and Executive President of GCC and former Vice President of the United Nations Correspondents Association; and Li Nan, Secretary-General of the China Brand Innovation and Development Project.
The GCC Brand Department will focus on supporting Chinese enterprises expanding internationally by providing services in:
International branding strategy
Global communication and media outreach
International resource integration
Event organization and cross-cultural promotion
The department aims to build a professional international branding support platform for Chinese companies seeking stronger global visibility and market influence.
Li Nan Appointed Director of GCC Brand Department
Li Nan, Secretary-General of the China Brand Innovation and Development Project, has been appointed Director of the GCC Brand Department.
Li has extensive experience in international brand communication and has organized multiple China-related exchange activities at the United Nations, helping promote Chinese enterprises on international platforms.
In recent years, the China Brand Innovation and Development Project has continuously organized the “China Brands Entering the United Nations” series at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, gradually building an internationally influential platform for brand communication and cooperation.
During the sixth edition of the program, the “2025 Enterprise Globalization and Sustainable Development Forum” was successfully held at the United Nations Headquarters, bringing together representatives from the UN system, international organizations, business leaders, and policy experts to discuss enterprise globalization and sustainable development strategies.
Building a “Brand + Platform + Project” Global Cooperation Model
According to GCC, the new Brand Department will leverage GCC’s growing international network to strengthen cooperation between:
International communication and project implementation
Global platforms and enterprise needs
Content promotion and industrial cooperation
Through a coordinated “Brand + Platform + Project” mechanism, GCC aims to help Chinese enterprises improve their international visibility, competitiveness, and long-term global influence.
As global industrial competition increasingly shifts toward brand value and international communication capacity, GCC believes the establishment of the Brand Department will further integrate domestic and international resources while helping more Chinese brands enter mainstream global markets and international platforms.
Moving forward, GCC plans to continue strengthening cooperation with international organizations, media institutions, and industrial partners to promote deeper alignment between Chinese brands and global sustainable development initiatives.
