GCC Officially Launches Ho Chi Minh City Hub in Vietnam

The GCC Ho Chi Minh City Hub officially launches as a key Southeast Asia cooperation platform promoting China-Vietnam collaboration in renewable energy, smart cities, advanced materials, education, and industrial development. Led by Chairman Lu Jianfeng, the hub will support practical project implementation and regional resource integration.

Global City Connect (GCC) has officially announced the establishment of the GCC Ho Chi Minh City Hub in Vietnam, marking another important step in GCC’s Southeast Asia expansion strategy and international city cooperation network.

As one of GCC’s key hubs in Southeast Asia, the Ho Chi Minh City Hub will leverage Vietnam’s rapidly growing industrial environment and strategic regional position to promote practical cooperation, resource integration, and project implementation between China and Vietnam.

Against the backdrop of deepening China-Vietnam strategic cooperation and growing regional connectivity, the Hub will focus on several major sectors, including:

  • New materials

  • Renewable energy

  • Smart cities

  • Fire safety and emergency management

  • Education and professional training

The Hub aims to strengthen collaboration between enterprises, institutions, and local governments while supporting long-term industrial and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Lu Jianfeng Appointed Chairman of GCC Ho Chi Minh City Hub

Following approval by the GCC Council, Mr. Lu Jianfeng has been appointed Chairman of the GCC Ho Chi Minh City Hub.

Mr. Lu is an international entrepreneur and industrial investor with extensive experience in cross-border business operations and industrial development across Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.

He studied at Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, where he served as Chairman of the Chinese Students Association and built extensive connections within international business circles. During his time in Ukraine, he successfully founded and operated a glass manufacturing company, establishing a strong reputation in the local construction materials industry.

After returning to China, Mr. Lu founded and operated several companies including Zhonggui (Qinhuangdao) Technology Co., Ltd., Zhonggui Glass (Qinhuangdao) Co., Ltd., and Qinhuangdao Zhonggui New Materials Co., Ltd., focusing on advanced materials and construction technologies.

In recent years, he has expanded his business activities into Southeast Asia and developed broad and stable networks with Vietnamese government agencies, enterprises, and industry organizations, creating a strong foundation for China-Vietnam industrial cooperation and project implementation.

Mr. Lu stated that he hopes to leverage GCC’s international platform to further integrate resources between China and Vietnam, support more high-quality projects in Vietnam, and promote long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial cooperation mechanisms.

Building a Practical Southeast Asia Cooperation Platform

The GCC Ho Chi Minh City Hub will serve as an important bridge connecting industrial resources, international investment, and regional cooperation opportunities across Southeast Asia.

Key cooperation areas will include:

  • Renewable energy and green development

  • Smart city technologies and AI solutions

  • Advanced materials and industrial manufacturing

  • Emergency management and fire safety systems

  • Education exchange and vocational training

The Hub will also help facilitate project implementation, local partnerships, and practical cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Southeast Asian markets.
