Global City Connect (GCC) has officially announced the establishment of the GCC Toronto City Hub, marking another important milestone in GCC’s North American expansion strategy and global city cooperation network.
As one of North America’s leading economic and financial centers, Toronto offers a highly international business environment, strong industrial foundations, and extensive global connectivity. The launch of the Toronto City Hub creates a new platform for practical cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Canadian as well as North American partners.
Strategic Focus: High-Potential Cooperation Sectors
The Toronto City Hub will focus on strengthening international cooperation in several key sectors highly aligned with current global development trends, including:
Energy transition and clean energy
Electric vehicles and advanced manufacturing
Agricultural and food trade
Critical minerals and natural resources
Cross-border tourism and cultural exchange
The platform aims to:
Support Chinese enterprises expanding internationally
Promote China-Canada business cooperation and investment opportunities
Connect global industrial and financial resources
Facilitate practical project implementation and localized cooperation support
Through GCC’s “City Hub” mechanism, the platform seeks to move beyond traditional networking by supporting the full process from resource matching to project execution.
Strong Leadership with Global Experience
The GCC Toronto City Hub is led by Mr. Jeffrey He, an experienced international executive with extensive background in multinational operations, strategic management, and global market expansion.
During his time at Hikvision, Mr. He served as President for North America and successfully expanded the company’s regional business from approximately USD 10 million to USD 450 million within eight years, while building a localized team of more than 450 employees — a rare achievement for a Chinese technology company operating in North America.
Previously, at GE Security, he served as Vice President for Asia Pacific and General Manager for China, receiving multiple global leadership awards and developing deep expertise in international operations, compliance, and strategic management.
Currently, Mr. He continues to focus on renewable energy and clean technology cooperation, providing strategic advisory support for industrial collaboration projects across North America and Europe.
His extensive international business experience positions the Toronto City Hub not only as a platform for introductions and networking, but also as a practical mechanism for advancing real projects through complex international business environments.
From Information Exchange to Project Implementation
Unlike traditional business networking organizations, GCC emphasizes practical collaboration and project implementation.
The Toronto City Hub will provide:
Market access support
Local business coordination
Industrial resource matching
Compliance and operational assistance
Cross-cultural communication support
Long-term partnership development
This model reflects GCC’s broader mission of building sustainable international cooperation infrastructure rather than simply facilitating short-term business introductions.
Strengthening GCC’s Global Network
The Toronto City Hub will work closely with GCC’s existing and future international hubs, including:
Denver, United States
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Japan
Pakistan
Africa Continental Hub
Together, these hubs aim to strengthen cross-regional cooperation and support emerging global supply chain and investment opportunities.
Looking Ahead
As global industrial restructuring and green transformation continue accelerating, GCC believes city-level international cooperation will become increasingly important.
The establishment of the Toronto City Hub further expands GCC’s global cooperation network and strengthens its ability to connect enterprises, cities, institutions, and international resources through practical collaboration and project-driven partnerships.
