Recently in Beijing, Dr. Djibril Diallo, Chairman of the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN), met with Ms. Shi Si, Vice President of DAS Solar. The meeting was coordinated by Global City Connect (GCC) and featured a friendly, pragmatic, and constructive exchange on jointly advancing renewable energy and water purification projects in Africa.
Drawing on his extensive experience promoting sustainable development across multiple African countries, Dr. Diallo highlighted Africa’s urgent needs in clean energy access, safe drinking water, and essential public services. He emphasized that renewable energy and water purification are not only economic priorities, but also critical to livelihood improvement, social stability, and long-term sustainability, and noted Africa’s strong demand for mature, reliable, and scalable solutions.
Ms. Shi Si outlined DAS Solar’s capabilities in photovoltaic R&D, system integration, overseas project delivery, and operations & maintenance, sharing case studies from international projects. She reaffirmed DAS Solar’s commitment to the African market and its willingness to explore integrated solutions combining renewable energy, water purification, and local capacity building, tailored to local conditions and development stages.
Both sides agreed that integrating solar power with water purification, and deploying distributed, modular solutions, can effectively address energy shortages while tangibly improving community living conditions—offering strong social impact and replicability. They expressed readiness to deepen engagement and move toward substantive project evaluation and implementation.
Martin Wang, Executive Vice Chairman of GCC, attended the meeting and underscored GCC’s role as a platform to integrate international organizations, governments, and enterprises, facilitating systematic, resilient, and deliverable cooperation between Chinese companies and African partners in green energy, clean water, and sustainable development.
Committed to turning international resources into real-world outcomes, Global City Connect will build on this meeting to advance practical China–Africa cooperation in green development and livelihood improvement, contributing to a more robust and sustainable partnership.
