Why Africa Matters More Than Ever
Africa is entering a historic period of transformation and opportunity.
By 2050, one out of every four people in the world is expected to be African. The continent already has the world’s youngest population and is experiencing rapid urbanization, digital growth, infrastructure expansion, and industrial transformation.
At the same time, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is creating one of the world’s largest emerging economic markets, connecting more than 1.3 billion people across the continent.
Against this backdrop, cities are becoming increasingly important drivers of economic growth, innovation, technology adoption, investment attraction, and international cooperation.
GCC believes that future international collaboration will increasingly happen not only between countries, but also directly between cities, industries, enterprises, and innovation ecosystems.
It is within this context that GCC Africa City Hubs is being developed.
GCC Africa City Hubs: Connecting Global Resources with African Opportunities
Under the leadership of Dr. Diallo, GCC Africa City Hubs aims to build a practical international cooperation network linking African cities with global investment, technology, expertise, and project opportunities.
The initiative focuses on transforming international dialogue into concrete project implementation and long-term partnerships.
GCC Africa City Hubs will work to:
Promote city-level international cooperation across Africa
Support implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Align projects with national development strategies and UN country frameworks
Connect African cities with international investors, enterprises, and institutions
Facilitate practical cooperation in infrastructure, digital economy, green energy, healthcare, agriculture, education, logistics, AI, and smart cities
Mobilize African diaspora expertise, investment, and international networks
Help international enterprises better understand African markets and establish sustainable local partnerships
The platform also aims to support Chinese and international companies seeking responsible, long-term engagement with Africa through localized cooperation and sustainable investment models.
GCC’s Expanding International Network
Global City Connect is currently building a global network of “Country City Hubs + City Hubs” designed to strengthen international cooperation through practical, project-oriented collaboration.
GCC has already advanced international City Hubs in:
United States
Canada
Vietnam
Japan
Pakistan
Africa Continental Hub
Additional hubs are currently under development across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.
GCC has also established internal structures including:
Executive Committee
Secretariat
Compliance Department
Brand Department
In addition, GCC is building an international business support system covering legal compliance, global branding, project matchmaking, overseas market expansion, and international resource integration.
The platform currently maintains a database of more than 10,000 companies, many of which have strong interest in expanding internationally and exploring opportunities in Africa and other emerging markets.
Voices of Leadership
Dr. Djibril Diallo stated:
“This is a moment for action. Africa’s cities are engines of growth, innovation, and opportunity. By working together with governments, the United Nations system, investors, and partners on the ground, we can mobilize resources and deliver concrete progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.”
GCC Founder and Executive President Martin Wang noted:
“Africa represents one of the most important growth frontiers of the 21st century. Through GCC Africa City Hubs, we hope to build long-term bridges connecting African cities with global resources, enterprises, technology, and investment opportunities while promoting practical, sustainable, and mutually beneficial international cooperation.”
Looking Ahead
As Africa continues to play an increasingly important role in the global economy, GCC Africa City Hubs aims to serve as a practical platform for international collaboration, investment connectivity, and sustainable development.
By combining city-level cooperation, international partnerships, and project implementation, GCC hopes to contribute to a more connected, inclusive, and opportunity-driven future for Africa and its global partners.
