Global City Connect (GCC) has officially appointed Ms. Park EunJeong (박은정), President of the Korea-China Cultural Exchange Association, as Chair of the GCC South Korea City Hub, marking another important step in expanding GCC's international City Hub network across Northeast Asia.

The appointment reflects GCC's commitment to promoting practical cooperation among cities, cultural institutions, tourism organizations, universities, businesses, and civil society organizations in China and the Republic of Korea. It also marks the formal launch of the comprehensive development of the GCC South Korea City Hub.

Strengthening China–Republic of Korea City Cooperation

GCC believes that city-to-city cooperation plays an increasingly important role in fostering international understanding, economic development, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity.

The South Korea City Hub will serve as a practical platform to facilitate cooperation in culture, tourism, investment, education, innovation, and sustainable urban development while encouraging long-term partnerships between local governments, businesses, academic institutions, and international organizations.

The establishment of the South Korea City Hub further strengthens GCC's growing international network of City Hubs designed to promote cooperation through cities, projects, and partnerships.

Expanding Cooperation in Emerging Industries

She has consistently supported Chinese enterprises seeking opportunities in the Korean market while encouraging Korean companies to expand cooperation with China, creating new platforms for industrial collaboration, city partnerships, and international resource integration.

Priorities of the South Korea City Hub

The GCC South Korea City Hub will focus on five major priorities:

  • Strengthening city-to-city partnerships and expanding cooperation between local governments;

  • Promoting cultural tourism through festivals, tourism promotion events, city branding activities, performing arts, food festivals, and international exhibitions and conferences;

A New Platform for Regional Cooperation

GCC believes the establishment of the South Korea City Hub will further enhance its presence in South Korea and throughout Northeast Asia while leveraging the extensive experience and international networks developed by the Korea-China Cultural Exchange Association and the Korea Hubei Chamber of Commerce.

By integrating cultural exchange with tourism, business cooperation, innovation, and city partnerships, the South Korea City Hub is expected to create new opportunities for practical cooperation and contribute to sustainable regional development.

Remarks by Chair Park EunJeong

Ms. Park said the South Korea City Hub will uphold the principles of openness, cooperation, and mutual benefit while serving as a bridge connecting governments, enterprises, universities, research institutions, and civil society organizations in both countries.

She noted that the Hub will actively promote cooperation among GCC City Hubs worldwide, encouraging the sharing of resources, mutual learning, cultural exchange, tourism promotion, and city-level collaboration to build a more inclusive and mutually beneficial international cooperation network.

She expressed confidence that the South Korea City Hub would make meaningful contributions to strengthening China–Republic of Korea friendship, expanding regional cooperation, and promoting international cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
